When reading this play at first I really didn’t understand the humor in reading it. After watching the clips everything clicked with me. I really had to get a visual of what the play was to understand it. Now I have a clear understanding that in this play had a lot of satire in it. This whole play had satire from Get on Board, The Hairpiece and The Last Mama on the couch. They took serious issues in the African American culture and made it funny, but it’s something that African Americans dealt with in history and, to a lesser degree, in the present.
