Animal Farm, written by George Orwell, is a satire which criticizes the Russian government, communism, and world powers. It shows how an uneducable lower classes can lead to social corruption in the fictional and real world. Orwell shows the leaders of Russia such as Stalin and Trotsky, in a way which the people of Russia and the world had never seen before; he portrays the world leaders as animals on a farm that wish for a rebellion. Mr Jones treats the animals on the farm poorly and they long for freedom. However, the animals later realize that freedom was not everything they wish for. Squealer, a pig, is one of the many leaders in Animal Farm; he represents Stalin's propaganda newspaper called Pravda. Even though Squealer is one of the fundamental pigs on Animal Farm, the supreme pig Napoleon, controls Squealer. Squealer often curtails the rights of the animals, by using manipulation and trickery to convince them everything is equal on the farm. Squealer accomplishes this in many ways, for example, Squealer changes the laws/commandments the animals abide by into laws that benefit the leaders and pigs on the farm, which in doing strips the lower class animals of their rights. Manipulation is a main trait of Squealer, he somehow uses immense words and confusing ideas to convince the animals to blindly follow Napoleon, he makes the animals believe the new laws are to benefit them, when in reality it only benefits the pigs. The head pigs, which includes Squealer, got the finer things and privileges in life. The animals believe that they are not losing any equality, Squealer however knows the animals are losing equality because the pigs tighten down on what they are allowed to participate and create, or have a say in. Squealer is one of the prime animals that take power away from the other animals by changing the commandments to benefit the pigs in the end, if the animals even have the slightest doubt about the commandments Squealer immediately convinces them everything is fine and equal. Since the animals follow every order, this allows for social corruption, in which the head animals can make any laws and have absolute power over the other animals, as the book goes on one group of animals gain more power each day.
