I like dreaming with my eyes open. I’ll be sitting down in my International Relations class, for example, and out of nowhere I’ll begin writing funny, revealing dialogues between two friends. One guy, for instance, might be trying to open up to his friend about his homosexuality, only to end up having to explain to his friend why he is not attracted to him. I found my niche in comedy as a junior in high school—particularly in my Theater class. While pretending to recount formal monologues, I would routinely just improvise comedic rants, and receive standing ovations.
