Dress Code

It's no lie that a lot of girls complain about the dress code at school. I myself think that some of it is silly. I think it is silly until I look at some of the girls who don't come even close to following the dress code. I then realize it's not as silly as what I think it is.

I think we need to enforce rules on the shorts. Woo some of those girls shorts. Man, do they need to cover up!
I think that we should all dress modestly. Statistics show that the girls who don't dress modest and the girls who show a little more skin than what they need to are actually used and thought as a tool. What do you do with a tool? You use a tool.
How are guys going to take you seriously when you don't even have respect for yourself. Some of the trends that are on right now are sexy, but dressing modest is sexier. I don't mean you have to wear turtle necks every day of the year and you have to wear jeans everyday. What I'm saying is wear shirts that are high enough that don't expose your cleavage, and when you bend over your cleavage won't show because your shirt is high enough. For your pants, if you're going to wear shorts at least have them past your finger tips so they come down to about your

It's not that I'm judging them, I'm looking at them concern and tough love. If your goal is to get as many guys as you can, attract the wrong kind of guys, not be taken seriously, get hurt emotionally, and be used, then go ahead and show as much skin as you want. However, if you want to be taken seriously and if you have respect for yourself show that you do. Show that you want that right type of guy, not as many guys as you can get for the attention, you are a person who is serious, rather than not serious and don't care, be confident and strong, not emotionally hurt from the heart breaks, and looked at as a person not a tool that can be used

Lately, I have been pondering on the harsh dress code rules. When did my shoulders become something I should be ashamed of showing? When did it become a secret that girls wear undergarments? Admonishing girls for letting their shoulders or bra straps show is the most ridiculous form of dress code. Dress coding this harshly can promote negative feelings about their bodies, when they already feel bad enough.…

An interesting question asked by Thoreau is “Dress a scarecrow in your last shift, you standing shiftless by, who would not soonest salute the scarecrow?” People often have more respect for people who dress nicer, in a suit or dress, because it generally shows wealth and power. Should it matter whether or not someone is dressed up nicely? Clothes were originally used to protect our skin, not to show power.…

My AP Literature teacher, Mr. Mercer, once asked my class a serious question: why do women apologize so much? A thoughtful pause followed while the class, females especially, pondered the answer. My teacher elaborated with a short anecdote about a female student from a previous class: Mr. Mercer was standing in front of the doorway before class, speaking with another student. The female student approached the doorway so Mr. Mercer and the student courteously moved out of the way. The female student nodded and uttered a quick “sorry” as she hustled past them.…

Dress codes standards send home students every day, all over the country, for being too revealing. Most are girls, and on occasions, boys that struggle with the standards, therefore they should be lowered. It’s taking away from your class time, limits self-expression, and the rules can sometimes not be correctly administered are all problems caused by dress codes standards. The dress code can take away from class time because everyone is more concerned with how we are dressed, rather than worrying about if we’ll do good on our next math test, or studying for the history final. During class, teachers can stop their lesson to tell one of their students that they are violating dress codes, therefore taking time away from class and from other students learning for something that is not relevant outside of school.…

I enjoy getting dressed up for fancy events. I feel uncomfortable in crop tops that are cropped too much and skirts/shorts that or too short. While I never think too hard when shopping at the mall, it is quite apparent to me that my fashion choices are not actually so personal to me. In fact, the items in my closet can be described as more or less “feminine.” I dress the way I do because it feels comfortable to me.…

There are so many fun and cute ways to dress modestly, being stylish doesn't have to mean booty shorts and crop tops. Why should girls dress modestly? Girls should dress modestly to respect their own bodies. Also because it can stumble other people, why would you want someone looking at you in a way that only your husband should look at you?…

We all know that group of girls who show up to school with their breast popping out of their shirts, butts hanging out of their shorts, and belly shirts that show way too much skin. Obviously, dressing like this to school is in no way appropriate, and should be addressed. Another argument of why the dress code should be enforced is the fact that school is a learning environment and that we should be teaching kids how to dress for the future. By doing this, you are helping young adults understand that wearing a crop top or (for boys) wearing saggy pants to an interview definitely won’t get you a job. Others may say that enforcing the dress code, like providing school uniforms, will help families that are in poverty and will decrease bullying when it comes to making fun of someone’s…

Dear Religiously minded adult, There has been increasing number of letters and blog posts about the issue of modesty. The articles focus mainly on women and the clothes they wear. While I believe modesty to be important as well as dressing appropriately, I would like to address a concern I have with the way modesty is presented to the women and girls of your faith. I understand that you believe women should dress modestly and that this is very important to you for a number of reasons. It shows respect for their bodies by not flaunting them.…

The effects of social control on women’s dress can still be seen in societies today. It is especially severe in grade schools and high schools across America. These young girls are restricted on what they are allowed to wear because they can’t be “distracting” to boys in their classes. Shorts and dresses must be a long length, and shoulders and collarbones cannot be exposed. Some schools are more strict than others, but irregardless the issue of the dress code still persists.…

“Why are you wearing that” “Isn’t that a little too short” these statements and many more are phrases students hear everyday from their school administrators and teachers because of these horrible, out of date, dress codes. Dress codes are becoming more and more of a problem with the uprising society. While there should be a dress code so students look more professional and looking like they are going to work and not to bed, school dress codes are being sexist against females and discriminating girls through rape culture, discrimination, and body shaming. They are promoting rape culture when it is stated that what women are wearing is distracting and lead boys on, and that is they didn’t dress like that they wouldn’t get sexually harassed…

To look presentable, would be that you can walk in public and nobody is going to give you strange looks based upon what you are wearing. So here, to solve this issue, the more casual dress code should work. But, as I have pointed out before the restrictions which will help to regulate employees appearance are still a must. For example, factory workers shouldn’t be allowed to wear nylon cloth, or office workers and especially people working face-to-face with a client are permitted to wear beach clothes or too open sexual clothes, also it should be permitted to come to the office wearing boxers or too short skirt and high heels. Moreover, in the last example, it can have a harmful effect not only on the working environment but also on woman…
