Tuesday morning, just like every other morning. Brushing teeth, fixing hair, doing makeup…. Then deciding what you’re going to wear to school. One word to describe picking out your outfit for school, “stressful”. 2016, new trends in fashion and what kids look cool in at school. As if every morning the same struggle. As soon as you start Throwing clothes out of the closet trying to find the perfect in style that also fits the dress code. “UGHHH… this is so stressful. As a result you realize..you have nothing to wear.” Then your mom comes into the room and picks up a shirt. “Awe honey, this would look cute on you.” You get so frustrated and flustered. “ Mom you don't understand, that shirt was popular when i was in 7th grade, now i'm in 8th grade, I..I just can't wear that.” If only she understands that you need to look in style and fit the dress code.

Parkview teachers sometimes worry about the dress code more than the education. Students will get caught for dress code, be told to go to class to put their stuff down and come back and change. Or teachers will pull then then and there and make them change. This affects students self esteem. If students go to class in one outfit, then get called down to the office and come back in another outfit everybody knows what happened. Then everyone makes fun of the student that got caught and it brings their self-esteem down. Studies show that you outfit shows who you are as a person. And to children our are taking away their personal style is like taking away their dignity and taking away how they feel, they think they changed into a whole new
