Dhumal was leading lawyer of Nasik. He became a devotee of Gajanan Maharaj in 1903 and was drawn to Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi in 1907. Baba’s immense blessings were experienced by him to his personal and professional life and spiritual advancement. Baba once told him, “At every step I am taking care of you. If I did not, what would become of you, God alone knows. He was a school teacher in the primary school in Shirdi, a window of which always looked on to the adjoining Dwarka Mai Masjid of Sai Baba. In the beginning, he used to think that Baba was a mad faqir and he used to hear voices in English, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, and many other languages coming from the Masjid at night.
