Sarah Koenig's Relationship With Adnan Analysis

Sarah Koenig’s relationship with Adnan impacts the way she tells his story and investigates Hae’s murder. I feel like she has gotten too close with Adnan and by that, she really wants to believe he is innocent. In episode six, Koenig says to him, “my interest in it honestly has been you, like you’re a really nice guy” (40:17). Sarah has a picture of Adnan as a nice guy, and keeps that he is a good person all the way through the full length of the podcast. Despite the fact that she questions Adnan’s guilt, she is starting to grow an association to Adnan. She has spoken to him on the phone several times, has heard his side of the story and has grown to pity him. Maybe Sarah has been tricked by Adnan’s words, but she is upset by the thought of
