Katie, Ally-Best Friends Forever Analysis

Katie, Ally, and I were friends, collectively, for over twelve years. While searching through packed boxes, I found a journal with “Sarah, Katie, Ally - Best Friends Forever” written on the front page and all of our signatures scribbled underneath. We must have declared our friendship in that journal sometime during grade school, and we truly believed that it would hold true. Katie was a bubbly, outgoing blonde. She was friendly, sweet, and a joy to be around (benefit). We met in our early years of grade school and picked up Ally somewhere along the way. Ally was a humorous, adventurous, and quirky friend who made life fun (benefit). I saw my own character in both of these friends, and though we differed in a number of ways, our shared personalities made our friendship make …show more content…
During the first few weeks of my move, I spoke with my friends nearly every day. Life in Florida was lonely at first, but giving my friends a FaceTime tour around my new house brought me a bit of joy (benefit). Soon enough, I was flying home to West Virginia for the first time to visit since the move. Our reunion was full of excitement and, at that point, nothing in our friendship seemed out of place. On my flight back to Florida, I imagined them flying into Tampa International one day and running to hug me at the baggage claim - a typical reunion after months of not seeing your best friend (equity). As the months passed though, my hopes for our friendship began to lessen. Shortly after my visit to West Virginia, senior year started for my friends and our constant communication began to dwindle. I regarded the lack of communication as a consequence of school starting and began to find friends in my new home. Though my newfound community in Florida was sweet, I still longed for the close relationship that I had previously held with Katie and

Interpretation The Four-way test is way to make sure that what we do in the future only serves to help those around us. There are some instances that people forget the Golden rule and do not apply it in their life and this can damage relationships and the feelings of those around us, which many try to avoid. These rules simply elaborate on the Golden rule and are available to help people make harder decisions in their life. I think the song see you again by wiz khalifa represents my 8th grade pretty well because I dropped some of my friendships, took up a few new ones, and my family connection has strengthened. I made many new friends this year, or strengthened my friends I’ve had for years. Some examples of the people I’ve been friends with for a long time are alex colmenares, George kopendaka, and nick wilcowske. I haven’t done much with nick, but we are in a ski/snowboard club together, we both love being in the terrain park, grinding rails and flying off jumps. I’ve been friends with George and Alex for a long time, longer than I can remember.…

Reading Response/Analysis for Friendship by Katherine Philips As a reader, I really enjoyed Philips point of view when it came to the idea of friendship compared to love and marriage. Though this was written in the 1800s, her views on the topic are still widely agreed on today. Unlike many, Philips had a low opinion of marriage, claiming “For love, like earthly fires (which will decay if the material fuel be away), is with offensive smoke accompanied, and by resistance only is supplied” (250) meaning that in order to make a marriage work, one must constantly put effort into it, much like building a fire. Philips also make the point that two people will marry, either for money or status, and not even be friends with each other.…

Relapse Prevention Plan An important component to staying healthy and meeting the stated goal of substance use (moderation or abstinence) is to have a prevention plan before the urge to relapse occurs. Writing a prevention plan that identifies your stressors and possible solutions will help you to live a life which supports your values in the presence of overwhelming urges to fall back on previous behavior. Moving here from North Carolina when I was four changed my life completely, I was away from my family who I lived with my whole life, thrown into a school with a bunch of kids who lived here since they were born and told to “make friends.” This changed the next 13 years of my life to something I can never picture not having. The first four years, both my parents had full time jobs and my grandma helped raise me a lot, she taught me so many manners and how to behave, she even ended up living across the street from me for 2 of those years, they were rough for my parents, new baby, just moving, having to find jobs, making friends, and getting food on the table for me. Thats where my amazing family came in, with bringing home cooked meals…

Friendship is an investment and just like any investment we have to put something in to get something even bigger from it. You may be thinking that I spent most of the time with Edna while I was there. But one of the reasons is that Edna invests in our relationship; she sends me message, pictures of what she is doing, asks for advices, and while I was in Bloomington, she really wanted me to go to Indy because she missed me. That’s the kind of investment I believe we have to make for our friends; give our time, heart, expertise or whatever we have to offer. So, I that’s why I am writing to you.…
