Sarah spends a majority of her time with these two characters and the reader is allowed to not only see the growth of the friendship, but also the personal growth of the individual characters, making them dynamic. Another character is Sarah’s mom Rozanne. Sarah’s mom would be considered the antagonist in the storyline. The fourth character is Sarah’s dad Glenn. He is a static, major character. Because of his job he is not in the plot line as often as her mother, but does help to shape Sarah and is always there when she needs him. Next, there is Sarah’s roommate Isabelle. Because she is a new addition to the story she is a minor character who appears to be static, however, this could change as the storyline progresses. She appears to be kind and Sarah likes to talk with her when they are both in the dorm. The last character is Kayla. Overall Kayla is a major character, as Sarah lived with her for a number of months, but is becoming more of a minor character as the storyline progresses. She is a dynamic character as her attitude towards life and others has completely changed after the death of her stepfather. The interactions of these and a number of other characters help to shape the storyline and show the reader the life of the main character
