SAP Appeal During my first year at University of Missouri - Columbia, I accumulated a gpa of 1.927, which is my worst academic year in my college career. I am here to write my first and final SAP appeal to the financial aid office on what I did wrong and how I will change for the upcoming year. The main problems that troubled me last year were struggles to balance work and school. However, I will admit that video games was also the reason why my grades drop over the period of an semester in the past and I take full blame that it has come to this. But I’m grateful that the financial aid office has given me this opportunity to write an appeal.

In my talk, I explained how during my freshman year, due to the challenges I faced, I received a poor 2.889 G.PA, which would likely hinder my acceptance into law school, as this is my desired goal after graduation. Determined to do better, I started the second semester with a changed mind of succeeding by any means possible. As a Christian, I prayed before reading, doing any assignment and taking tests. I also made sure that I did my assignments before the dates they were due and took them to be reviewed, at the end of the semester, I received a 3.7 G.PA and ever since that day, I have maintained a high G.P.A that I even received a 4.0 in the previous two semesters. I also emphasized that it is very easy to bring down your G.P.A but very difficult to improve it.…

For many students, stress seems to walk hand in hand with college applications; From writing essays to taking various standardized tests, attempting to get into college takes hard work, and sometimes it can all come crashing down when the infamous rejection letter arrives in the mail. After being turned down from the colleges of her dreams, Suzy Lee Weiss wrote the article “To (All) the Colleges That Rejected Me” which describes how colleges lie about their expectations of applicants. The author writes that colleges expect much more than they actually say they are looking for, and that acceptance is biased towards certain people or qualities. The arguments made by this author tend to lack proper supporting evidence and also include multiple logical fallacies which ultimately make her case against college admissions ineffective.…

My goal at Clark Community College is to get an associate’s degree to transfer to Washington State University and major in Information Technology to be programmer. My first quarter of Clark Community College so far has been a great experience due to taking this course. I have learned a lot from many of the assignments we have done; they have become useful tools for other classes. One of the assignment was “Find a Scholarship”; this assignment is a very useful tool and is one I will continue to use for my two years at Clark. This assignment should have been one of the required ones because many students are unaware of scholarships and they should know about the opportunities they have, to earn free money to further their education.…
