The company applies a lens of human rights to all the CSR related objectives. The company has developed a risk profile for Human Rights. Some of the topics discussed were: fight against forced and child labor, freedom to associate, data privacy, health and safety and human rights risk when dealing with suppliers. These were roughly translated into the following CSR objectives in the area of ethics. The company developed a toolkit to enable the different affiliates working in different parts of the world to act on Sanofi’s global CSR objectives. This acts as a reference when designing all future action plans and strategies. The systems in place to ensure continuous improvement are mentioned below.

Its main objective is to ensure that the R&D departments continually asses and update the policies in view of emerging bioethics issues. It then devises mitigation plans in collaboration with the stakeholders and monitors their implementation.
Steps taken to ensure the safety of participants and data privacy
• Outsourced clinical trials:
In case of outsourcing of clinical trials, their compliance with good clinical practices is overseen by internal teams. In case of detection of any non compliance, the appropriate regulatory authorities are notified and risk mitigation plans are implemented by Sanofi.
• Monitoring clinical trials:
Quality Control is done by a representative of the trial sponsor 4-8 times a year to make sure that the data is collected, handled and analyzed …show more content…
Anti-fraud organization
Sanofi has an anti-fraud officer working with the internal audit departments to design a fraud risk management program with emphasis on prevention, detection, investigation and reporting. In 2014, a fraud risk assessment was done.
Compliance certification
The leadership needs to go through an annual certification process to help managers to strengthen their commitments towards compliance and business integrity.
Mandatory employee training program
The employees are required to undergo certain mandatory training programs on topics like Fraud in the workplace, global financial fraud prevention, and responsible business communication.
