Sanyigo Essay

Teachers can be essential to a high schooler’s path to college. They can act as mentors, counselors, friends, advisors, and of course, teachers. In a point of time where students need the most help, they can always rely on teachers to extend a hand, knowing that they will be assisted along the way. Ms. Nicole Sanyigo was that teacher for me. She helped me spark an interest in history and excelled in teaching it. Her conventional, as well as unconventional, teaching methods really drove the point home throughout all the classes I had her. She is a supportive mentor and advisor and is always open to my questions and concerns. Based on all my experiences, I would like to invite Ms. Sanyigo to the National Honors Society ceremony.

Sanyigo for Personal Financial Management over the summer of 9th grade. She made the class environment engaging and lively, despite the class being held during our precious summer break. It came to a point when I wanted to come to class just to partake in whatever unique activity we would be doing that day. Her activities and demonstrations always had a connection to the subject material and helped immerse students in the topic. She also gave many assessments, unlike other teachers. While tedious at first, this ultimately helped me, as well as other students, excel at Personal Financial Management. I was thrilled when I discovered that I would have Ms. Sanyigo again for Honors U.S. History
Ms. Sanyigo reinvigorated the classroom environment and revolutionized the subject for me. Her in-class notes and demonstrations weren’t just basic slideshows; she will show us a pertaining video or artifact that she has collected that pertains to the subject. Ms. Sanyigo’s collection of memorabilia over the years for various historical events greatly improved my learning. She was the only teacher I had that supported her notes and instruction with physical evidence that we were able to pass around and interact with. All her lessons were in-depth rather than just

It is a great pleasure to recommend Rachel Sitasz for admission to the Edward Hospital Student Volunteer Program. She is one of the most empathetic, kind, and exceptional humans I have encountered in my 14 years of teaching. I teach Rachel in my 8th grade advanced ELA class. Her academics, character, innate curiosity, intrinsic motivation, ethical standards, and unwavering desire to give back, have put Rachel in a class of her own. In fact, for the first time in over 25+ years, the eighth-grade team created a brand new end-of-the-year award for our graduation awards assembly.…

Ms. Kalinski is one of the two most influential teachers I have had throughout high school. As her student in my freshman and junior years, I was just a model student. But my selection of her as one of the most significant teachers I have had revolves around what I learned by spending time with her during her prep period. She embodies the type of person I would like to be: dedicated, involved, energetic, and, again and most importantly, dedicated to what she does. This is a person who can be found involved in every aspect of student life.…

Before each class would begin, Mrs. Popkins would introduce the subject with an ice breaker, usually a video or an activity involving movement. This structure quickly attracted the attention of the students and with the attention on her, Mrs. Popkins would smoothly transition the class into the topic for the day. Her nonverbal body language and her enthusiastic attitude altered my feelings about history and teaching…

Reality in the simplest terms is the form of which things truly exist to you. People confuse reality with the way things are imagined or might appear to you. In movies like Inception or The Matrix, the perception of reality can be easily misconstrued if you focus on the wrong “reality.” Moreover, Reality involves everything that has ever been, whether or not it’s clear or understandable. Perception in other words, is the way you interpret or identify information that leads to understanding what you see around you.…

My ideal grade level for teaching would be first grade. In first grade, students are still learning the basics of reading and writing. I believe in first grade is a big transition from kindergarten because students begin to read fluently and comprehend what they are reading. I believe the big goals in first grade are to read simple stories and write about a topic that that means a lot to them. Teachers can do this by using different teaching strategies throughout the school year, with centers being one.…
