Santiago's Journey

Since the treasure is back where he started, he has to journey back to aquire it. Even though he does not need the reward, he still wants to finish his destiny and finish what he started. This stage is called “ the road back” and it is kind of a shocker because the protagonist has to adapt back to their ordinary world. Santiago is tested one more time and ends up getting beaten up and robbed. He does not stay there and give up because he knows that he can make it back. This is called the “resurrection” stage and is used sort of like a wake up call because they are back in the ordinary world. He then returns home and discovers the treasure right where it was in his dream. He completed his journey and can finally go back to be with Fatima for
