Santiago Monologue

Decent Essays
Tomorrow you set out towards Santiago. The truth is you already have been walking this path as you envisioned and prepared for this journey. In the morning, what up till now has only been a future hope will become reality. It would not be uncommon for you to feel both excitement and insecurity. You cannot wait to take your first steps, but you wonder if you will be able to make it. While these thoughts are to be expected, do not give them much thought. Instead, spend this time reflecting on what has brought you to this moment. Tomorrow you will set out from this place, but where did this journey really begin? When was the first time you remember the seed of the Camino being planted in you? What about that moment called to your heart?

Starting on the path we both got lost in our own thoughts, I got distracted by looking above me at the the canopy the tree branches created. My eyes followed the patterns the sunlight was creating as it broke through the leaves and cascaded onto the uneven forest floor.…
