Later they discuss about how he will get there. He tells Santiago he will give him money if he sells his sheep, and Santiago did sell them. Melchizedek helped him understand how important it is to follow your dream. He paved a way by giving him money and Urim and Thummim and Explaining how he help those who needed help with reaching their dreams. It turned out how it wanted he got his treasure. Many ideas in the novel is to God or the soul of the world. Without god or the soul of the world to help Santiago out when he was confused many times on his journey about whether he should continue it. Santiago would never have the will to keep moving forward. He probably would have stayed. This shows that god didn’t care whether Santiago was rich or a king. God simply helped him because he wanted him to reach his goal and to not be like all the people he met who didn’t follow their dreams. They were all sad and full of regrets and wish they could go back and change their fates. With his faith in God, God helped him out. The soul of the world approved of him and it guided him with more obstacles which strengthen him and allowed him to keep going forward until he found his treasure.
