Santiago and The Alchemist finally go their separate ways with Santiago’s Personal Legend only a few hours away from him. Santiago is walking across the desert, but then all of a sudden he sees the omen he’s been waiting for; a Scarab beetle. He then begins to dig in that spot in search for treasure when refugees spot him, beat him up, and take all of his money. As they walk away one of the refugees tell Santiago about a dream he had where he in fact finds buried treasure at an old, broken down church with a tree growing on the inside of it. As the man tells Santiago the story, Santiago knows exactly where this location is. Just like the character in the song “I Get Knocked Down,” Santiago got knocked down, but he got up again.
