Santa Cruz is on the verge of becoming one of the top dogs of marine science research and education. It’s located on the edge of the Monterey Bay National Marine sanctuary. Santa Cruz has facilities that are a diverse range. Their goal is to support and develop facilities to enhance marine science research and education. The coastal zone is where interactions occur between organisms. Having access to this affects the environment in a huge way around the world. We humans having a role in the ocean like controlling are waste and pollution and global warming are all ways that are effecting are oceans in many different ways. The Uc of Santa Cruz is a big campus that has multiple research facilities of marine science. One of their big facilities is the Joseph M. Long marine laboratory. It’s located on the edge of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. It has many features that help research projects and programs. Like some of their outdoor pools that hold live sea otters. Or also their plankton culture labs and many more. Their top class facilities are one of the many keys to success in their studies. They have many marine sciences buildings located in the campus of uc Santa Clara. Right now one of the top projects they are working on is the marine mammal physiology project. The goal of the project is to work with a variety of animals to collect data to process investigating energetics of multiple animals in the ocean. In order for them to accomplish this project trainers must be involved with training multiple organisms in order to follow their patterns of behavior. This is just one of the many projects going on at the research unit at uc Santa Cruz. There are also a ton of different labs used to help in projects and studies in the institute.
