As I stated previously I’m all for your Second Amendment rights. I think you should be able to have guns. It's in our constitution. What I am not for are illogical arguments and lies. There is one argument and one argument in particular for owning a gun. That argument is “I like guns.” Now, I think I can see some faults in that poorly constructed argument. But do I agree that if you like something you should be able to have it, but if it endangers you or others it should be taken away. However, the other arguments come out, and these arguments are thought through. The main argument I hear when debating this topic is protection. As humans, protection means a lot. Protection means safety and safety means determines your well-being. However, I don’t see many news stories on guns protecting people. This argument just never stops “I need it for protection. I need to protect me. I need to protect my family.” Ok, is that why they’re called “assault rifles?” I haven’t come across any “protection rifles.” If you have a gun in your house you are 80% more likely to use that gun on yourself, then to shoot someone else. People seem to think that if you have a gun you’re instantly more protected. If an intruder enters your house at night, you’re protected. To us it’s very important. But we need to understand that every country has a constitution. And I’ve had people come up to my face and say “You can’t change the Second Amendment.” And my response to that is, yes you can, it’s called an 'amendment. If you can't change something that’s called an “amendment” then somethings gone wrong. Don’t have the misconception that our constitution is set in stone. We’ve changed things before. We had prohibition, and I’m sure a lot of Americans are glad that’s no longer a thing. We also had slavery. However, Abraham Lincoln decided that there should be no more slaves. And 50% disagreed with him. And the same imbecilic arguments appeared, “Why should I have my slaves taken off me? I'm a responsible slave owner. I'm trained in how to use my slaves safely.
