What is known is the shooter had significant mental health issues that affected his ability to live a normal life, as well as the ability to interact with others. What contribution this made to the shooting, if any at all, is unknown because mental health professionals who saw him did not see anything that would have indicated this future behaviour. The fact that he would not allow anyone into his room or house, proves that he was a loner. These are all aspects of the case that sociologist would focus on the most. That being said, phycologists would focus more on his mental state. Asking questions such as: How did his mental health affect his well being? What childhood experiences may have lead to his crime? While this view might seem more relevant it only focuses on his mental state. Meaning that the phycologists would not be seeing the big picture. Yes, Adam had a mental illness, this being said lots of people with this mental illness do not shoot and kill children. The mental illness was not the driving force behind this crime merely, a piece of why this crime was committed.
