Sands Hotel came into existence through the sale of a computer trade show “COMDEX”. In 1989, entrepreneur Sheldon G. Adelson and his partners bought the Sands Hotel and within one year opened the Sands Expo and Convention Center. In 1995, Adelson sold COMDEX for more than $800 million dollars. This money was used for renovations of The Sands Motel, which was inspired by a trip taken to Venice Italy. For the next two years the hotel was reconstructed into a romantic replica of the ambience and luxury of this ancient city.

Las Vegas Sands has invested greatly in developing and construction and are gambling on a large return with their projects in China. They have taken another turn and are developing Malls, which in turn continue to generate a positive profit margin.

In the market, their performance has provided their stockholders with positive earnings and was it was also noted by Market Realist the chart below does not include the dividends paid by Sands China LTD., and also is minus the $2.75 per share for the special dividend paid in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Overall the Las Vegas Sands pay $0.50 per common share for the fourth quarter of 2014, which is a 42.9% increase from the fourth quarter of 2013. The expected payout for 2015 will be $2.60 per share, which is a 30% increase over 2014. The corporation has been in the business of buying back their stock in order to pursue future
