In 1445, a great Italian artist was born in Florence. His name was Alessandro Dei Filipepi, but known as Sandro Botticelli. His older brother was called Botticella, which meant barrel, so they gave Sandro a nickname, Botticelli, which meant little barrel. He loved art, drawing, and painting his whole life. He has over one hundred and fifty painting. He was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance. Sandro Botticelli was liked and adored by the people; because of his paintings he created and the way he impacted the Renaissance. He created religious paintings, using oil paints, added texture, color, and shade.
Sandro Botticelli loved art his whole life, he also grew to admire it, and passionate about art. As he grew up he learnt more and more about art. He started to become noticed by other people in Florence because some paintings were to do with their religion. When Sandro Botticelli was a young boy, he wanted to become an artist. His father did not like the idea, but after his father saw the paintings he drew, he was convinced about the idea. When his father was convinced, Sandro Botticelli worked on many painting. He took a room for himself just for his work area. Sandro Botticelli’s preferred way of painting was using oil paint, because it gives a unique and great texture to the painting.
