Sandra's Only Daughter

In the short narrative Only Daughter the main character Sandra is the only girl in a family full of boys. As a result she feels unwanted and unloved unlike her male counterparts. She strove for acceptance and praise, I relate to this mindset greatly. I am the eldest child, solely accompanied by a younger sister, I always feel as if I am a disappointment, that my sister is loved more. My mother and I have never had a healthy, strong relationship we are constantly screaming and annoyed with each other. I can be loud, headstrong and very tomboyish, contrary, my sister’s demeanor is quite, shy and polite, she is a prodigy, elegantly dancing on her toes.
