Aung San Suu Kyi Informative Speech

The name, Aung San Suu Kyi is very well known not only among South East Asian countries but also across the world. Numerous countries and world leaders have invited her to give speeches on her ideals and values. Suu Kyi is a well-known and loved celebrity amongst the people of Myanmar (also known as Burma) who is respected all over the world. She is loved not only because of her looks or riches, but because of her monumental political movements. She gave up everything and would be willing to give her life for the sake of the people of Myanmar. Suu Kyi is a living hero in Myanmar who fought for the human rights of the poor, the weak, and the oppressed. To better understand Aung San Suu Kyi, her life is categorized into three parts; her background life before involvement in politics, life during the struggle for Myanmar, and her life after the political changes in Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi was born in June 19, 1945 in Yangon, Myanmar (formally known as Burma). She was the daughter to General Aung San and Khin Kyi. She had two older brothers but one was drowned at the age of eight years old at a nearby lake from the house at Yangon. During the 1990 general election in Myanmar, the NLD party received more than 59 % of the vote which guaranteed 80% of seats in the Myanmar parliament.
