San Pedro College: Staff Productivity and Morale Action Plan
An issue of low morale among faculty and staff, which is affecting productivity, has been brought the attention of the San Pedro Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees for San Pedro College (BTSPC) which includes two elected student members has met and voted to create a committee to oversee the present situation of low morale and the effect of low morale on the core mission of San Pedro College and to determine the best course of action to alleviate the issue.
The Team
The Morale Development Team (MDT) met and developed a plan of action. The MDC first developed a Hindering and Helping assessment. See figure 1 below. With this information the MDC determined they should first develop one goal. See figure 2 below. The MDC intends to develop a survey to determine individual incentives, assess the survey response feedback, and implement suggested incentives. Figure 3 represents an initial survey for assessing member satisfaction, work climate and possible non-monetary incentives.
A survey would be developed to gather input from the faculty, staff, administration and community and BTSPC has determined that the issue of low morale must be eliminated rapidly because it represents a detriment to the success of

The action plan includes one clearly stated goal supported by the dissemination, collection, and assessment of feedback. The action plan clearly outlines how feedback from surveys will be used and who is responsible for overseeing the administration of incentives. Furthermore the administration will put forth additional effort to ensure the development of communication and transparency among the members of the San Pedro College learning community.
