San Luis Obispo, CA: City Review

In my early thirties, my family and I moved to San Luis Obispo, CA. We lived on Foothill Blvd. for just over 5 years. While we loved the city, we felt we were just a little too close to the college. I was saddened when my husband’s job took us further south, but if we were to go back, we would choose another area; one that was simply a little quieter. If you are relocating to San Luis Obispo, CA and you prefer quiet, consider an area away from the college.

One of my favorite things about living in San Luis Obispo was the fact that it was a busy city, but you felt your family was safe. While the college area could get a little noisy at times, you never had to worry about things getting out of hand.

The ten questions asked ranged from accessibility to campus, transportation, amenities, cost balancing, and knowledge over the controversy. In their answers, there are some notable commonalities as well as a few differences. When asked how important housing was in regards to the closeness of campus, three students answered with a 4 on a five point scale and one gave a 3 on a five point scale. All stated that they had multiple forms of transportation, such as cars, the busing system, or friends which made living further away from campus easier.…

The camp you will be staying at is off the coast of Southern California and is on the North Western side of Catalina. It is 22 miles from Los Angeles which is where you board the ship that takes you to Catalina. When you are outside (or sometimes even when you are inside), the temperature is normally really warm and sometimes humid so I would suggest bringing and applying sunscreen in the morning and after every meal. Some of the native plants are eucalyptus trees, pine trees, moss, and cherry trees. The cherries that are on Catalina Island are different than what we are used to.…

Little Rock, Arkansas is an area in the U.S. that is significantly located in the “deep south”. At the time of the riots and protests in 1957, America was seeing a change in its citizens perspectives and their distaste in the “established” laws of society and the constitution. This was the initial start to the racial protests and demonstrations that led to civil disobedience amongst African Americans. Unfortunately, the amount of racial tensions in, 1957, swayed the public’s opinion and evidently worsened the protests. Luckily, President Dwight D. Eisenhower saw this as an opportunity to appease both sides of the events.…

Still, others waited until the first day, or even the first week before requesting changes. Some students reported having multiple gym and lunch periods, while others had classes in their schedule that were supposed to be every day, but they only had these classes every other day, making it nearly impossible for them to keep up with their peers. These students had to leave these classes, no matter if they liked the class or not.…
