The Center of Innovation 7.5 million people, thousands of technology startups, infinite possibilities; The San Francisco Bay Area is one that cannot compare to any other area in the world. Not less than one year ago, my family and I traveled to the beautiful city of San Francisco. Originally this trip was so we could spend time with my aunt who lives in the area. Although that was fun, my trip had a much deeper meaning to me. The city made a huge impression on me. I learned that I would like to spend my life and attend college in this stunning area. From the cultural diversity, to the impressive skyline, to the technology giants, San Francisco never becomes boring. From the moment our plane touched down in San Francisco, I knew something was different about this area. It was an place where your average citizen could change their life with a new technology enhancement. It was the American dream concentrated in such a small area. Walking through these long halls of the once crowded prison, it is hard to believe that it was once home to many of the worst offenders in American history. During the tour of the expansive grounds, I peered out a window to get a glimpse of the city skyline. I noticed something. You could almost hear the sounds of the city streets. I am sure that when the jail was still running, these sounds must have tortured the inmates at night as they could not be with these free people only a short distance away. While touring the jail cells, I also felt a great sense of tension.
