The San Francisco Law Firm has been operating since 2008 independently as a result of a splitting off from a larger firm. When half of the firm was acquired by a major firm, there was a lot of frustration and uncertainty about what would happen since there were signs of an inevitable recession. The lawyers that stayed started to feel the pressure of lower caseloads and billing requirements. They essentially had to create more work out of less cases. Once they identify their style, they can determine where they need to improve. Being aware of the different management styles on this grid would also assist The SF Law Firm determine which styles could be useful in different situations to achieve different goals. For example, Team Management would be an appropriate style to use when planning marketing strategies for the associates. If this task is treated more like a team project in which associates can work with a manager for support, they will likely be more motivated to achieve their goals and not be intimidated by them. Associates would benefit from this approach because they are more likely to be motivated with the support of their managers. If goals are being met, managers will be satisfied with the end result. This also means that the organization as a whole will benefit from this approach with consistent workflow and
