For the last 55 years, the National Football League (NFL) sports team, Chargers have played professional football in San Diego, California. In their first year of inception, the Chargers played in Los Angeles, California. The Chargers are owned by the Spanos family and is led by the patriarch, Dean Spanos. His sons, John and AG Spanos are head of football operations and business operations, respectively. The Chargers currently play in Qualcomm Stadium (originally named San Diego Stadium, and later Jack Murphy Stadium) located in Mission Valley. Ultimately, this vote decided which NFL team(s) would be allowed to move to Los Angeles and re-enter the Los Angeles professional sports market. The meeting occurred in two parts. First, a NFL relocation committee made up of six team owners made a recommendation of which stadium project was more appealing.
