Samurai are the most important social class in Japan for many reasons. Samurai were a big contributor to the safety of all of japan, also Samurai were figures that norma l people or peasants could look up to for advice, finally Samurai were eventually worked into being more central to Japanese Society. Samurai were also know as great fighters and were very respected. Samurai were very advanced when it came to fighting or war. The Samurai's main job was to protect the land owned by the daimyo. Source 2 states that “When the land is at war he must be at camp and in the field day and nights and rarely knows a moment’s rest.” This statement adds onto my idea, that the Samurai’s main job in japan was to protect their people from any invaders

Peasants were know to have to thought highly of the samurai. The Samurai got so much respect that “Anyone who disrespected a samurai could be killed.”(Source 2) Samurai also had to be careful when it came to doing certain stuff or acting a certain way. Samurai were not allowed to attend certain entertainment, like theatre because samurai were thought as more noble than that. Samurai were also not allowed to trade or commerce. Samurai also were very powerful in certain areas. If any crime went down the could act like the “cops” of their day and pursue them. This was very helpful to society because it kept the crime rate lower. Finally Samurai were also worked into the center of japanese society.
