Research and Development are known as R&D and it is the most important component in Samsung because consumers’ needs are constantly changing and the role of R&D is to meet the expectation or needs of the consumers. Without R&D, Samsung Electronics would not be leading the technology industry. To show that Samsung is emphasizing on its R&D, Samsung is investing 9% of its total revenue to R&D every year to stand a place in this competitive market and protecting its intellectual property rights. It had employed over 50,000 employees in the world across 42 global research facilities. There are few reasons why social contributions may be one of the factor that leads Samsung Electronics to success. First, employees think that a company that takes responsible for its social and environmental problems are considered a good company because company that does not harm the society will eventually does not harm their employees.(Mark Horoszowski, 2011) For example, if a company dispose chemical waste in the river, fishermen might catch the fish in the river and at last, the poisoned fish will go back into the employee’s body and it will cause harm to their health.
