I am an autonomous, highly motivated and reflective Bachelor of Science (Therapeutic Radiography) graduate. Training and various work experiences have enabled me attain fundamental skills needed to succeed and develop in the role as a band 5 radiographer.
Having undertaken my clinical training in The Royal Marsden Hospital, I am confident about my ability to work under pressure while meeting the needs of a diverse range of patients in a busy department. Whilst working as a junior member of the team, I demonstrated a strong ability to make decisions but also taking into account the opinions of more experienced colleagues- an approach that was highly valued. These were extraordinary experiences that facilitated further development of my organisational skills, listening skills and reflective skills among others. In addition, being an interviewer enabled me to reflect on how I presented the feedback to the prospective students and the importance of positive criticism or feedback to myself in my practice. And as a mentor I aided and supported radiography students. Selected benefits of mentoring include refining my facilitator skills and my ability to build professional relationships with students with various needs. This experience was an excellent opportunity on which I can draw upon in future.
My previous inability to work professionally was due to a delay from the Home Office in returning my passport and related documents. This has now been resolved. I have had conditional offers from North Middlesex University NHS trust and Royal Derby Hospital at the start of the year both offers have since been withdrawn. I am hopeful for an opportunity to develop
