Stewart immediately covered the baggy with a piece of loose paper. I asked her to move the piece of paper and to hand me the baggy, which with this officers time and experience, I believed to possibly be an illegal drug. I then asked Stevenson who the marijuana belonged to and he stated it belonged to him. At this time I had Stevenson move the vehicle out of the roadway and into the parking lot at the northeast corner of Broad St and
Lake St. After doing a records check it was found that Stevenson had a drivers license that was suspended-prior out of Indiana. Stevenson was removed from the vehicle and placed into double locked restraints. Stevenson requested that his money and belongings (from his pockets) be given to Stewart, so this officer gave the belongings to Stewart. The vehicle was legally parked and did not need to be towed from the scene. Stevenson was then placed into the back of squad car #64 and transported to the Griffith Police Department. While at the police department the unknown green and brown plantlike substance was tested by Ofc. J.
