The medical field has always been an interest of mine and something that I want to have as a major part of my life. While working on my nursing assistant license, I always felt a sense of pride, enjoyment and accomplishment when I was assisting the residents in their daily activities and saw a giant smile spread across their face. A gentle touch on my hand, a kiss on the head, or a simple thank you were all gestures that made me feel like I was doing this for the right reason, and that I had chosen the right path. I always felt like I was helping them live their lives to the best ability that they could. This feeling has made my desire to be a nurse even greater than it was before. As an LNA, I may not be able to bring health and wellness back to some residents, however, I know as a nurse that I will be able to help heal and repair countless of the people that I will encounter; that generates a feeling of responsibility and empowerment. …show more content…

This similar passion and drive also pushes each person involved to strive to work harder, be better, and come out the other side as a better person, both personally and

When I was 12 years old, my father was diagnosed with bone cancer. My mom, sister and I spent many hours in hospitals for the first three months of his diagnosis. I was always so thankful for all the hard work and such caring staff members the hospital had. I found myself fascinated in everyone’s role in regards to my father’s care. Anytime someone walked into my father’s hospital room I would read their badge and ask each employee what exactly their role is in the hospital, not because I was questioning their job duties but simply because I wanted to learn more about job opportunities in the hospital.…

If you were to look up the word “nurse” in the oxford dictionary you would read something like “A person trained to care for the sick or infirm, especially in a hospital.” When reading that you would probably assume that the nursing field is as simple as its definition; however in my perspective nursing is a far more complicated, rewarding and very influential profession. They care for not only people with illnesses but they also help prevent other health issues from occurring, promote…
