Ever since I was a young child I have witnessed the care of which various members of my family having care provided for them by nurses. At the age of 8 I had a grandfather who was dying with cancer, and so every Saturday when I would visit I would witness my grandfather receiving care from nurses within the home, and just seeing how this improved his life within the home even in his suffering he was able to smile. The personal attributes which I have gained from this experience of having siblings being ill on a routinely basis are various. I have seen first-hand the care and compassion that goes into the care of patients by nurses as whole. This has had a productive impact on me as this experience has shown me the compassion, patience and responsibility that truly goes into this job. I believe my passion for nursing will allow me to extend my current knowledge of caring and allow me personal growth throughout the course and adult life.
I believe that my personality and my character will offer a new perspective into the world of nursing, as I am friendly, dependable, punctual, positive and I possess a caring nature. For example, when my mother was ill, I ensured her safety was paramount within the household, I was organized as I remembered to give her the specific medications on time and helped with the housework so unnecessary stress wouldn't befall her.
