For nearly two years now, I have desired to pursue nursing and midwifery and have worked hard to achieve excellent grades in a rigorous high school curriculum. I have a passionate dedication to the pro-life movement, cherishing life from conception to natural death. Such a commitment has motivated me to become a nurse, so I may better promote life through my profession and act as an advocate for the true health of women and their children. Throughout my high school studies, I realized I have a strong interest in the sciences, particularly as it relates to medical care. One of the skills I was required to complete was to change a resident while he remained in bed. I noticed a particular gentleman was in need of assistance. While I cleaned and changed him, I realized he was embarrassed and distressed. I gently informed him I would make haste in my task to make him comfortable and he should not feel ashamed. I will be able to use my education and learning experiences to better serve others and Our Lord Himself and will have many opportunities to share my Catholic Faith through words and actions toward all whom I will serve.
