It is important for nurses to provide emotional support for women experiencing preeclampsia during pregnancy. It is crucial for nurses to have referrals to help support patients at home. Community-based resources are a way of providing that. These organizations can provide emotional support and guidance for mothers during and after their pregnancy. When a diagnosis of preeclampsia is made the mother is thrown into the high-risk pregnancy category. This can be extremely hard to cope with. Normal pregnancy comes with its own stressors, so when you add any kind of complication you increase the stress of the mother, which will the directly impact the well-being of the baby.
Two community- based programs for the buffalo area are Buffalo Baby and Baby’s Sweet Beginnings. They both provide support during and after a high-risk pregnancy.
