Again, Sammy goes into an over detailed explanation of Queenie’s appearance, referring to a part of her body that most people choose to look over as “more than pretty”. His value in appearance pushes him to overanalyze the girls, to describe them in a light that others would not. It is also shown, through the language used by Sammy in his descriptions, which of the girls he values more. With the first girl he uses crude language, showing how he discredits her appearance. He describes Queenie in an elegant manner, showing how he values her appearance.
