History has taught us that we should fight for our rights, for equal rights of every human being regardless of sex and color.
During the early history, women were perceived lower against men by nature. Males rule and females were ruled. Great philosophers Plato and Aristotle believed that “it is only males who are created directly by the gods and are given souls” and women were ‘defective’ human beings. Women were considered inferior to men and did not share all of the same rights as men, including the right to vote. It is legal contract between spouses that establishes rights and obligations between them. Church wedding and civil union rites are merely ceremonial. Unless legal requirements are satisfied, the wedding or civil union is not legitimate and binding. I am not attacking nor arguing with any religion as it is unrelated to the issue of equal rights. After all, there are number of religious denominations that support same-sex marriage and bringing up your religion to the issue of same-sex marriage will be a battle of beliefs between religious groups to which I will never engage in for I respect all religions. If your church prefers to preserve traditional marriage, in that case keep it. Point is, marriage is a jurisdiction of law, not of any religion. The laws are for everyone and are being changed for the common good. It should serve no specific sex, race, social status, religion or no religion at all. LGBTs are not asking anyone to change his religious belief but to respect equality and respect the law. The US Supreme Court did not order any church to host wedding for gay people. If you do not agree with the same sex getting married then do not marry someone of the same sex, but to stop gay people from getting married is not fair. It is the same as me not agreeing to aesthetic surgery, so never will I get one yet never will I hinder anyone from going under the knife, or me not liking beans but I will ask no one to
