Whilst living in Buffalo, New York, there were many little mom and pop stores. Being one of many doesn’t make you very unique though, and being like everyone else won't reward you with more customers. Sam was determined, altruistic, and selfless. Just like John F. Kennedy said, in the Immigration Contribution, “every aspect of the American economy has profited from the contributions of immigrants.” An immigrant doesn’t have to invent the flashlight just to make an impact. All those people who Sam visited and delivered newspapers to, profited from his generosity. Sam Saragusa is my great-grandfather, and he is one of the reasons why I am blessed with the life I have today and I am eternally grateful for how hard he worked to provide for his current and future
