Sam Houston Lord Of The Flies Analysis

1.One person i’d compare Sam Houston to is Jack from The lord of the flies by William Golding.When I first read that he enjoyed hunting and fishing I automatically thought of Jack.It was intresting because Sam was only 13 when he said that he prefered hunting and fishing over farming in page 7 and the fact that in the book Jack was only 12 so they were at a pretty similar age.Another way they are similar is that they both can be defined as a savage.In The lord of the flies,Jack is considered a savage and is the leader of his “savage” society because of his wantings to hunt and there being almost no rules in his society/tribe as well as there being no civilization.Sam Houston would be considered a savage in our definition of savage today.A person would be considered a savage today in our society if they were considered rebellious almost. I think that he is a savage because of how in page 10 to 11 after he had gotten struck in his thigh and he could not get it out himself because of deep the arrow had sunk ito his skin so he called his lieutenant over to help him pull it …show more content…
When they finally succsessfuly pulled it out he begged General Jackson to be let back in to war but was refused.When leaving how he told the people “You shall hear of me” and was determined to die in this battle or win the name of a hero.And so when his general moved off he joined his men once again.So therefor Sam didnt take no for an answer he was determined that he was going to countinue battling going against his generals
