Beloved from both American and African American race, an inventor of soul music, Sam Cooke was the most well-known soul singer in history. Sam Cooke was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi and is one of the eight children. It all started as a young child and a son of a preacher, Sam was in the church choir that his father ministered at and had an amazing voice, which the community started to notice. After singing in the church choir, he then started to begin a singing group amongst his three siblings called the Singing children. When he grew up into a teenager, he then left his siblings to go join another gospel group at the Teen Highway Q.C and started to sing at other churches and church gatherings.
