There is much I could say regarding justification but I will make it simple and say that justification is being made right with God. Or we could say being declared righteous. God declares a person righteous when he or she puts their faith in Christ alone for salvation. It is God who declares the sinner righteous based on Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to pay the penalty of sin for those who believe in Him.

Paul made this clear when he wrote, “By the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight” (Rom. 3:20). Paul then goes on to explain that “since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 3:23-24). God’s grace means that He gives to us what we do not deserve. We are not able to earn favor with God, but God gives to us His grace by providing salvation to those who believe in Christ. He will not fail in keeping His promises. Those God foreknows he predestines and calls and justifies and He will glorify. We have the promise and hope and certainty of eternal life because God promises it to us.
You do not have to fear losing your salvation. You do not have to fear losing your place in heaven. You do not have to fear that God who has called you will rescind His call. You do not have to fear that Christ who saved you will reject you. You do not have to fear that the Holy Spirit who gave you new life will take that life away. There is no fear for those who are in Christ Jesus. If you have been called, you will be justified, and you will be glorified.
It is amazing that Paul puts this in the past tense. He says these He also glorified. He does not say He will glorify, Paul says it has already happened. This is the stamp and approval of your eternal security in Christ.
