Salva's Persistence: Character Analysis

Persistence is just one of the many characteristics that Salva used to get through the difficult environments that he had faced on his long journey to escape the war in Southern Sudan. One way Salva showed this in the book was when his uncle died he didn't give up he kept walking and he kept going until he reached safety in America. Salva took that as an opportunity to push himself to help him survive. The day after Salvas uncle was shot and killed he was left alone with no family in this group, who didn't want to share their food and didn't want to help Salva, at all. Salva used persistence to push himself and prove to the group that he was able to contribute and also that he could pull his own weight. In the book it says “whenever he found
