Sally Mann is a photographer that specializes in black and white portraits of her family and landscape in the american south. Sally was born May 1, 1951 in the small town of lexington, VA. She is married to Larry Mann and has three children , Jessie Mann, Emmett Mann, Virginia Mann. Sally Mann has become a successful photographer and has won various awards for her work and here are a few of them , NEA, NEH, and Guggenheim Foundation grants, and her work is held by major institutions internationally. She also has written various books At Twelve (1988), Immediate Family (1992), Still Time (1994), What Remains (2003), Deep South (2005), Proud Flesh (2009), The Flesh and the Spirit (2010) and Remembered Light (2016). On Location with: Henri Cartier-Bresson, Graciela Iturbide, Barbara Kruger, Sally Mann, Andres Serrano, Clarissa Sligh" which was illustrated with photographs. Mann has achieved so much in her photographer career and has enjoyed a lot of success and continues to be successful at what she loves. On top of the love for photography Sally also enjoys endurance horse racing. Mann has been the subject of two film documentaries one of them Blood Ties and the Second one What Remains , which talks about her love for photography and her life in Lexington Virginia. The Royal Photographic Society (UK) awarded her an Honorary Fellowship in 2012 and She has had her work in many countries across the globe.
