Salk Institute Case Study

Decent Essays
The Salk Institute is located along the Route 101 in La Jolla, an affluent suburban community of San Diego, California. The twenty-seven-acre plot was granted by the University of California to complement the adjacent campus. Much of the land in this area is unbuildable since the area is bisected by an arroyo added to an existent difficult topography. Despite the number of unwanted features the seaside compensates the site with exceptional sunsets and views to the Pacific Ocean. La Jolla climate is Mediterranean, sunny and temperate most of the year with low precipitation during the summer months.
