Lacy Elementary school is a public urban school k-6 that has a capacity of 500 students, but is serving 650 students. The school 's capacity is at 130% which is well over the desired amount of students to be able to serve efficiently with the limited resources provided.. Most all of the students qualify for a federal lunch and breakfast program. According to the analysis, recent rezoning projects have caused new neighboring students to be bused to and enrolled in the school. During my special situations analysis, I intend to provide evidence as to the negative effects of overcrowded schools and strategies we can use to alleviate some of the issues that arise.…

Ever since Gale Ranch opened, there has been a school dress code. Gale Ranch students melted into a pool of anger and are now breaking it. Some students don’t like dress code because they think it doesn’t affect their learning and it doesn’t allow them to express themselves. Students seem to ignore the fact that the dress code is there to make the environment easier to learn in, so that students would not be distracted by what other people are wearing. Staff at Gale Ranch makes sure students follow the dress code by making them go to the office, and change into PE clothes.…

honors classes to them just because they assume they will not be capable to handle them. There is not a motivation to encourage them to take highly demanding courses, and since they are new in the system, they are unable to complain for something different. In addition, even if they complain, they are excluded from the option of taking a harder class because of the English level they can handle. The argument is unfair for those who excel in mathematical and scientific ability but lack of English proficiency.…

The Lower Merion School District provided laptop computers to high school students as part of a one to one program. The program allowed the students to bring home a laptop computer provided by the school district. Unbeknownst to the students or their parents the laptop computers were all programed with spyware that gave the school district access to the computers’ webcam. The goal of the one to one program was to increase the connectivity between home and school for students. The access to computers enabled the students to access online programs and activities that relate to the information that the students learned in the classroom during the day.…
