They believed that a bald eagle used clay to make humans. The Eagle made himself a wife from a feather, and from there on they could create other humans. The Salian Indians believed that his reason for creating humanity was because he was lonely and wanted to complete the creation that was already there. And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the dome of the sky” (KHAN ACADEMY). This quote symbolizes what the earth was like before humans and helps us understand his purpose for creating humans. Before humans, the god had already created animals, plants, land, and water. After the humans were created, their job was to take care of the land and live off of what they earned and produced.
Between these two stories of creation, I have discovered many similarities and differences. Some similarities are that both the Judeo Christians and the Salian Indians have a god type figure. In both stories, man was created first, and both creators provided land. Some differences were that the Judeo Christians believed in one specific God, and the Salian Indians there was a God type figure portrayed as an eagle. Another difference is that the creation process in both stories is different.
