Salem Witch Trials Research Paper

The Salem Witch Trials started in February 1692, over 200 hundred people were accused of witchcraft. There are a lot of questions about what caused the acusion of witchcraft? Was it ergot poisoning? Were people actually signing a contract with the devil or, were they just crazy? The infamous witch trails started all because a group of young girls claimed to be possessed by the devil and started pointing fingers at several local women claiming them of witchcraft. Two young girls (Elizabeth Parris and Abigail Williams) started to have contortions where they started having fits where they scream and fight. Throughout the village chaos was awakening everyone was freaking out. Everyone that accused people of witchcraft thought they were doing the right thing. Most "witches" that were accused normally were hung or burned at the stake. It's kind of a conspiracy theory because most of them were women no one knows why but it was normally the younger women that were accusing the older woman of witchcraft. Salem Witch Trails was sort of like population control in Salem there was to many people and the government wanted to do something about it.
