Attention grabber- A “witch hunt” is defined as a campaign directed against a person or group holding unorthodox or unpopular views. The Salem Witch Trials were a dark time in American History, while the Holocaust was a dark time in Human History. In the spring of 1692 in Salem Massachusetts, a group of girls led by Abigail Williams claimed that their uncontrollable screaming and fits were responses from being touched by the devil. In the winter of 1933, the German army was led by Adolf Hitler believing that Jews were evil and worked with the devil trying to defile the Christian mind. Both Salem and German groups were led by an individual trying to rid their area of whom were believed to be interacting with the devil, thus starting a “witch

Both began in attempt to eliminate the individuals who were thought to have interacted with the devil. In 1934 Adolf Hitler was named chancellor of Germany after their former president, Paul von Hindenburg, died. Hitler’s goal was racial purity, and to accomplish that he needed to eliminate all threats to stopping it, which meant the extermination of the Jewish population. In 1692 the young girls of Salem were experiencing uncontrollable screams and fits, and their main reasoning behind all of this was the devil's spirit trying to get them. Abigail begins to blame Tituba for this by saying, “She sends her spirit on me in church; she makes me laugh at prayer!” This is the start to the girls beginning to blame the town's people for trying to send their evil spirits to get them, and soon the town’s people themselves began to blame one another in attempt for revenge. Eventually the blaming goes too far and the judges realize what is happening. When Abigail says, "A women comes to my bed every night now and tears out my eyes. I believe she be Reverend John Hale's wife sir." After this the judges begin to realize Abigail is confused girl and does not know what she is talking about. They begin to figure out she has been lying and making up stories about the ones she has
