The year is 1692 and the holy town of Salem has just been disturbed by rumors that consist of the towns girls doing witchcraft in the woods. The suspicions are confirmed when betty’s father Parris finds them in the woods and the following day betty is unable to wake or move due to being “witched”. Meanwhile Parris and Abigail are arguing about how all the girls were doing was dancing in the woods. Later on multiple people walk in to confirm the rumors they have heard about the girls being involved in witchcraft, which leads to the rest of the town being put on edge at the prospect of there being witches where they live. Paris becomes worried that his reputation might be ruined and goes to town to assure that people that everything is fine,
